How to sleep less but effectively and gain more time

Everyone has 24 hours in a day, but I'm sure many of you have seen people who work non-stop, juggling countless tasks, and despite sleeping little, they wake up with enough energy to face their daily lives. Sleep Happy will therefore introduce ways to sleep less but effectively, which everyone can adapt and apply to gain more time in their daily lives to do other things. Of course, if you sleep 1-2 hours less per day, it means you have a lot more time to do other things. Let's read on together.

How to sleep less but effectively

1. Take a warm bath before bed

About an hour before bed, it's recommended to take a warm bath to help your body relax and loosen your muscles. After showering, go to bed and turn on the air conditioning to lower your body temperature, which will make you feel sleepy and sleep more soundly.

2. Do not work before bed

Do not work 1-2 hours before bed, as working requires a lot of thought and can cause stress or anxiety without you realizing it. These things will make you sleep restlessly, so sleeping less but effectively is almost impossible.

3. Sleep in cycles

If you've studied sleep a bit, you'll know about the 90-minute rule. This rule means setting a bedtime and aiming to sleep for 90 minutes before waking up. This period will make your body feel refreshed and help you sleep soundly, but it's recommended to sleep for more than 2-3 cycles, which would be 180-270 minutes.

4. Add a 20-minute nap

If your alarm goes off and you still feel sleepy and groggy, it's recommended to nap for another 20 minutes before getting up. This will help you feel more refreshed. However, you need to have enough time for this nap; if you nap anxiously and have to rush to wake up, it will worsen the quality of your pre-sleep state.

Sleeping less but effectively may be suitable for young adults in university or working adults. However, for those who are still young or entering old age, sleep is very important. For children, it helps them grow better. For older adults, getting enough sleep can reduce stress and relieve fatigue. In summary, sleeping less is not suitable for everyone.
